COAT TRENDS FOR WINTER 2023
Where I live, the weather has been drastically changing throughout January. However, it is often chilly, damp, and gloomy around this time. Yet, our streets are overrun with all different sorts of coats, making it fascinating to see how people express themselves via their clothing.
I think it is appropriate to discuss the five most trendy coats I love this year as I am on a college campus and see individuals wearing so many different street styles with coats. They are available in various designs and price points, from high-street retailers like Zara, H&M, and Mango to luxury retailers like Net-A-Porter and Cettire. I have a few lovely coats in my collection, and I'm happy to expand them with a few more in these styles.
Regardless of your spending limit, there is something easily available for you. Since coats make up the majority of your clothing during this time of year, I prefer to invest in high-quality coats, so I carefully consider the material composition before I buy them.
Below are the trends I am loving at the moment.
THE LEATHER COAT
For some time now leather coats have gained fame in this season either they are real leather or faux leather coat. During the recent fashion week, leather coats were one of the items I recognized in the various street styles, and it is very easy to style them. Even better are the ones that are trench or classic peacoat. For now, I am eyeing the pink leather coat from Prada which I hope to add to my collection soon. Below are a few links to these coats.
2. COLORED COATS
Every kind of coat we adore to wear, including the duster, trench, and pea coat is being reinterpreted by some of our most coveted designers in vibrant hues like Viva Magenta, the official Pantone color of 2023. Because a color (as opposed to a shape or substance) lends itself to simpler styling, color trends are always a favorite to wear. This season, embrace something a little more daring and interpret it however you see appropriate.
3. PUFFER JACKET/ COAT
Given that puffer jackets have been in style for a long time, it's natural that many of us have several of them in our wardrobes from the previous season. What will be different in 2023? Whatever color you may be feeling, we're talking about long-column coats that are blended in with elements of this winter's other trends. If you're a genuine trend follower, invest in a puffer coat with a trench-style belted waist, a strong shade of striking color, or perhaps a hint of leather. You can uncover some quilted treasures by searching for Scandinavian companies, which are the trend's true origin.
4. OVERSIZED PEACOAT
We've worn peacoats for a very long time, but this year we're going full length. This season, the streets are covered in long peacoats in a variety of patterns and colors. And to kill two birds with one stone this winter, if you already love peacoats and prints, go one step further and choose faux fur leather prints or animal print coats because they are hot this season too.
5. COMBNATION OF MATERIALS
Mixed-material jackets, which combine leather and shearling in lovely harmony, are probably one of the most practical trends of the winter. They make you feel warm and incredibly stylish. For the winter, the coat is king, but I think we can all see how this trend will seamlessly transition into the shorter jacket for the spring and even the gilet style for those days when that dazzling ball of light, we've forgotten about returns in the sky.
