GRADUATION OUTFITS
A lot has happened in the past month, including my doctoral dissertation defense, the commencement ceremony, an after-party, and celebrations. There have been several events. Keep an eye out for a brand-new blog post I'll be writing about my experiences and advice for readers to use as they get ready for graduation and at the commencement.
I feel like there have been so much going on and I have robbed you, my favorite people, of everything and I am sorry for that. I relocated to California for a new job even before my commencement and it has been so stressful, especially finding an apartment I love but finally, I landed one that I am in love with, and living there now. I will share the journey with you as well as furnishing and purchasing pieces I am loving now soon on my YouTube channel.
In today’s blog, I would love to share with you everything I wore for my commencement and the events after that. All the outfits were custom-made and so may not have links, but I will share my fashion designer's Instagram if you want to contact her. She is amazing at what she does and I trust her completely. Her Instagram handle is @ama_akuaba. I am from Ghana so obviously she does excellent with Ghanaian styles but also also great at designing wedding gowns and so on.
The main commencement garment is made of "KENTE," a luxurious hand-woven fabric with a lot of hand-beaded designs from Ghana. I'm glad I brought home here in the US and that was what I wanted to do for this occasion. For my other events, I also had velvety attire and a Zimmerman dress. Without further ado, listed below are all of my outfits, both those I've worn and those I haven't.
