THE COLOR FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2022

THE COLOR FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2022

PINK IS THE COLOR SS22

Bright pink is the season's must-have color, whether it's hot, bubblegum, Barbie, magenta, or neon. The color was seen everywhere from Balmain to Versace to Valentino on the spring summer '22 runways back in September. You couldn't go to a theater, get out of a car, or walk down a fashionable metropolitan sidewalk without seeing lovely pinks everywhere. Some images copied from Vogue.com

The question is, how can we transform these fantastic runway styles into everyday wear? Continue reading to learn about the new designer and high-street arrivals that have caught my interest thus far this year.

The instant I saw pink on the runways last season, I knew I'd be wearing it someday. Something simple, perhaps a bit large, and in a color that made you appreciate spring this season. I wanted to join in on the trend, so I went online to look for a lovely suit, and lo and behold, I came up with this stunning bubblegum pink suit set from Alex Perry. A structured bralette is included in this short suit set but in this shoot, I replaced the bralette with a Gucci bralette and paired black sling-back shoes from Saint Laurant. It looked so stunning.

We all know that when fashion week arrives, the trends can feel harsh and unwearable every day, even for the most confident among us. That's why my favorite trends that are making their way onto the high street are the ones that can be incorporated into our own personal style.

If you're a fashionista who keeps up with the latest trends, seeing the items you saw on the runway emerge on the websites of your favorite stores is always exciting. If you've been waiting to add a certain shape, color, or piece to your closet, it's a moment of lust fulfilled, whether it's the exact piece or not.

The issue is determining when it is appropriate to invest. And when is it appropriate to withdraw your consent? Because these are investment pieces that require a lot of money to purchase. If you don't like pink, don't force yourself to buy it because I don't want you to purchase anything, whether clothes, accessories, shoes or anything else that you won’t be able to wear. I'm not a big trend follower, but I love pink, fitting right in with my wardrobe, so I'm prepared to invest in it. Make sure you buy something you'll be able to utilize for a long time. If you are not into blazers, this beautiful pink dress from Valentino is simply amazing. You can dress it up by pairing it with heels or dress it down with a pair of sandals or flats.

Feeling bold and ready to ditch the pastels this spring/summer. Then, depending on your budget, it might be time to invest in this trend. Choose a shape, cut, and style that you'd generally go for (something that makes you feel fantastic is a must), and then have fun finding the right shade for you.

Some of my favorite high street and upper high street retailers are embracing the trend this year including Zara, H&M, Me+Em, Whistles, and Ted Baker. If pink is still on your mind for spring, look for high-quality items like cashmere knitwear, crisp tailoring, and wool mix coats. Whatever pink means to you in 2022, you'll be able to find something great to add to your wardrobe.

What are your thoughts on wearing pink this spring/summer? Enjoy exploring your styles and colors.

Xo,

Naomi.
