SANTE FE

SANTE FE

24 Hours in Sante Fe, New Mexico

My trip to New Mexico was not planned in advance; the goal was to simply swing by and spend the night before driving to Arizona. Well, I fell in love and had to remain a bit longer, albeit not for another day, but long enough to explore everything this great city had to offer. In this blog, I'll tell you about my hotel, the sights I saw, and the restaurants I ate at while in Sante Fe.

If you are considering a trip to this location, I have some recommendations based on my 24-hour stay in the town. New Mexico's capital is Sante Fe. The structures are largely made of adobe with a modern touch. The buildings appear archaic from the outside, but once inside, you will have the most incredible experience ever.

The hotel inn and spa at Loretto provides a wonderful experience that pleasantly pleased me. There is a spa place where you can get your massages, a great bar, and most importantly lovely staff to assist you in anything you want. It is quite expensive but if you are on a budget then I’ve got you because there are many other hotels that provide very outstanding services. El Sender is one such hotel I can recommend.

Moving away from hotels, the cuisine was one of the things that drew me in. You know the food will be fantastic because this is a city with a large Mexican population. Not to be biased because I enjoy Mexican cuisine, but their food is amazing regardless of whether it is Mexican or not. We had a fantastic supper on the rooftop of the Coyote Cafe and Rooftop Cantina restaurant on my first night there, while listening to traditional Mexican music.

The modest breakfast establishment where we stopped the next morning blew me away. Mine, oh mine, I've never had waffles as amazing as the ones I had at Dolina bakery and cafe, so it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Following our morning breakfast, we traveled downtown for a city tour. There were many gorgeous structures, but one that struck my eye was this large old cathedral located close to the Loretto Inn and Spa hotel. I had the opportunity to go inside, and my, what a stunning display.

We were walking around downtown and came across street vendors selling incredibly gorgeous and colorful goods, which was rather fantastic to see. When I touched one of the blankets, it felt as soft as butter. Then there came the plaza, which was a hut fashioned out of colorful painted planks. Not to mention the beautiful parks they have.

Some places to explore in Santa Fe and Albuquerque includes; Wupatki national monument, Lowell observatory, Petrified Forest National park, Unkar delta, Bisbee and tombstone and the desert view.

One thing I appreciate and was very happy about was how lovely the natives are to tourists. Everyone is willing to talk to you about anything. I got over ten compliments on my outfit which I have shared above. I hope these tips help you on your first or next trip to Sante Fe. Let me know below in the comment section if you have been there before or plan to check the place out.
